I can take some. Just looks like a 2022 IPC. I can share the forscan changes and you can try but i'm not certain it will. If the below changes do not work then you would have to update files on a few modules that are from a 2022 build. So they arent exactly easily accessible and take about 7 hours overall to update. Honestly if the changes below dont work, I would revert all back and not mess with it anymore. The risk of bricking modules isnt exactly worth a button.

716-02-01 xxxC xxxx xxxx (if default is 0, change to 8) (if default is 1, change to 9) (if default is 2, change to A) (if default is 3, change to B) (if default is 4, change to C) (if default is 5, change to D)
716-48-01 1515 0128 1Exx Enables Saving My Mode
720-11-02 8xxxx xxxx xxxx MyMode Enabled
724-03-01 x4xx xxxx xxxx LH Switch Config
760-04-06 xx01 xxxx xxxx 00 =MyMode Disabled 01=MyMode Enabled

I tried all the forscan changes. Still not working.
It does more than it used too though. It seems to save things now, but when I press the "R" button twice to enable mymode it acts like its going to work but it fails. (I'll take a video if you want to see what its doing)
When you say module updates. Do you mean updating things through FDRS? I have a mongoose cable and applied the latest updates about a month ago. Is this something you would be willing to walk me through?

I think no matter what you will have to flash the firmware on the IPC, ATCM, ABS and TCCM to the MY22 in order get it to work. It’s inherently part of the 22MY so I could see them having added some additional code to control that feature. However it should be noted this is risky and could end up very poorly for your truck. After flashing you can make the change @Antho did in order to get it to work.

It would be really nice if the flashing wasn’t needed but there still may be another way. I’m planning to continue my search into what the next best thing would be to do soon but my biggest concern is leaving the truck in a state that, should I need to claim warranty on something, the dealer will see what I’ve done and screw me. Although I feel as if this would not be as bad as it seems.

I get that this is a “nice to have” feature for us ’21 guys/gals. But, is the risk really worth the reward here? Reading what you guys have done thus far seems to lead to dead ends. Only one person, @Antho, has been successful but had to go beyond the capabilities of Forscan to do so. Fortune favors the brave so y’all pioneer on.

Im trying to figure out if I want to go through with it too. There may still be a way to get it through just forscan but the only proven method requires MY22 firmware. I already have the part and it would be super nice to not have to adjust everything the same every time I get in the vehicle, but it’s not the worst thing in the world.

On another note the use of the MY22 firmware also occasionally fixes other things. One of the issues I know I have had that some others had was the my gauges getting reset randomly. Updating to MY22 can potentially stop this.

In the end of the day the MY22 was essentially the same truck with some of the digital displays removed so it’s not too far off however definitely a “go at your own risk” deal.

I just wish ford offered the ability to get r mode on MY21s since for them it would be cake to do.

Any updates on enabling trail turn assist for MY21, or to a lesser extent getting the R button functionality to work?

As far as I know, unless ford updated the MY21 firmware to have the code changes required to make the forscan changes work. The only way to enable the R button is by flashing some of the control modules to MY22 firmware.

@Antho any update on your end? It’s been a while and I haven’t made much progress other than flashing to MY22.

As to the trail turn assist, I am assuming the would also require a firmware flash but I don’t know much about that feature.

I added trail turn assist a long while ago. Didnt need to flash anything to 22MY. The codes i changed for Trail Turn are below. As for the Mymodes, I installed it awhlie back. All works perfectly. Needed to flash a few modules to 22MY. Not a forscan process so its not really feasible.

Hey! Which modules did you flashed? Did you have to use FDRS? Thanks!
