Yes, but I think that by doing so, you would be sacrificing the rear camera as well. You would have to drop the luxury package and add the plus package in order to get the rear camera without the front camera.

On the ordering guide rearview camera is included in the Luxury Package 55L

Maybe you're right, hell if I know. I'm still going with the front camera regardless because I'm betting the truck does not have to be in 4WD Low for it to function. And even if it does, there will eventually be some kind of aftermarket product to unlock it.

They should have made that camera like a built in go pro. Just plug your memory stick into the sync port and BAM! high def recording from the truck. It would be bought by everyone.

Now that is an AWESOME idea!!!!!

I believe thats correct, but I think if you get lux AND nav, then you lose the rear camera unless you get the fr/rr camera option??? For ~$500 on a $50k truck I'm getting the front camera option, whether I'll end up using it much or not, its a pretty cool new feature, and another one to help resale too.

Bingo, I be there will be workarounds that come out to use the front camera in other situations if it is locked out to 4low only.

Did you see where it says:

"The display from the
camera will appear on the navigation
screen on the center stack with dynamic
and static overlays to help drivers
determine where their wheels will go"

So from that I take it there will be lines of where the front tires will land, and they will move as you turn the wheels. Somewhat like the rear camera has the lines for the rear tires, but those are static only. The front will have dynamic ones that move with the steering wheel? Pretty damn cool.

That would be cool (the moving lines) but I don't think that will happen. You just learn where your tires are going to be in relation to the camera.

I was wanting the camera but not if only at low speeds, glad I opted for no NAV.

No NAV just because you don't want the front camera? The NAV unit is ******* amazing IMHO.

I had Nav in my 2011 FX4, it was nice, just not me.

One of the reasons I was trying to justify the NAV was the front camera, I am glad I didn't use that as a reason to spend another $2500.

It's right out of the press release...

"The display from the camera will appear on the navigation screen on the center stack and includes dynamic and static overlays to help drivers determine where their wheels will go."

Static would be stationary overlays, like the backup camera. Dynamic overlays implies ones that move, and to help determine where wheels will go, I take that as the dynamic overlays shows the projection of where your tires will land and the path the truck is going to take. I mean what else would move dynamically on a front camera?

I'm with you on that one they would of sold me on that. I have a go pro that I just got about a month ago. It's pretty cool watching the suspension and other things when your running.
