Would you rather have a truck that wasn't tested that shows up that you immediately have to take back to the dealer or one with 80 measly miles on it? Ya'll need to take a few chill pills.

A LOT can be done to a vehicle in 80 miles when it's not yours...trust me!!!

Id trust Ford engineers and people at the plant before I trusted a low wage mechanic at the dealership...

If you think Ford engineers are driving these Raptors around and not a minimum wage lot porter who transports the trucks around Michigan...god bless you!!!

Why would you ever buy or think about buying a Ford Raptor then? I know you think you are pretty smart and blue-collar guys are peasants, but there are some things that you will eventually have to have fixed at the dealership.

If you don't trust the trained mechanics at the Ford dealership, where will you take it? Probably not a Bentley or Porsche dealership around with highly paid and skilled mechanics to work on it.

Bet there are a couple of Ford mechanics on this forum that would argue that fact with you......

Dave Sinclair Ford St Louis Missouri. I have been buying from them for 30 years. They do not mark up vehicle prices. They will beat any price. Outstanding dealership. My first Raptor was $38,000 . On top of that Igot $1500 back from Ford motor racing performance center because it was one of the 1st 100 built. If I remember the next 100 got $500 from Ford performance.

For a problem on a vehicle that pretty much zero dealership mechanics have seen or worked on Ill trust the people at the plant before I trust the dealerships mechanics thats why I wouldnt worry about some extra "test" miles on a brand new vehicle fresh off the line.

My ’01 Lightining had 230 miles on it when I bought it new, and in many ways it was the best new vehicle I’ve bought. I damn well know that every test driver probably test drove it like I did... with a big freakin’ grin after flooring it a few times. Though mileage wise, I sold it with ~36k miles, I had it 8 years. In that time, I needed extended warranty 1 time - the AC compressor went out. A few days and $50 later i have frosty cold A/C again.

Ford is on the hook for 3 years / 36k miles from delivery to the customer, so if they put on 10, 100 or 1000 miles, you’re still covered. Years ago, it may have been more of a risk and wariness at buying a performance vehicle with mileage wasn’t as cool as being able to say you’ve put every mile on the vehicle. That’s no guarantee of trouble free operation. I watched my 09 Ducati get uncrated, prepped and handed over to me new, with .1 miles on it. I had it 5 year and it was the most problematic vehicle I’ve ever owned.

I’m willing to bet the truck drivers went WFO at least a few times, but probably not drag racing. I’ll bet they also did a lot to make the truck work hard, downshifting and cruising around and a lot in between. Good - one or a few less warranty repair visits for erratic shifting or stalling or whatever bugs they’re ironing out.
