Just received the below from my dealer. Not sure how true it is.

I can tell you that my son ordered an F 250 diesel with the tremor package in early October and as of yesterday still no production date. I’ve decided to just hold on to my Gen 2 2018 this market is crazy!

My dealer said you wouldn't see Lightning trucks on the lot for 3 years. When they opened the order banks the largest dealer in Texas got a whopping 3 allocations and picked 3 lucky winners from the order list. My dealer got 0.
That’s just nuts. So damn if you are first on the list. They went full retard and did it lottery style…crazy!

Oof, that's not good. Do you think it's a deal with too many trucks sitting waiting for a chip or something bigger. I think I know the answer but would love to be wrong.

Ford is currently accepting orders that can be scheduled as of now on the F-150, Explorer and Escape (non-hybrid)

A dealer will take any order and submit it but those are the only 3 models that will be scheduled for production the rest of the year from a very reliable source. I would think a 4 month gap between model years if they stopped accepting all orders would benefit Ford, customers and suppliers.

It’s just a combo of a lot of stuff, if it’s not the chips it’s the logistics constraints if not that it’s labor tightness it’s not just chips it’s other parts as well that are tough to get we source from all over - Mexico, SE Asia, china, Canada etc. & all those places have different shit going too lol

I was looking at a couple of used raptors at my dealer a couple of weeks ago and decided to just order a new one. Filled out my build sheet and waited. GM came and apologized that they werent able to order a new one currently. Said it would probably be August before their raptor orders were allowed due to low parts inventory etc. He also said he was worried turn around times would be 6+ months even when they do get to order. Had a handful of existing 2022 orders that were 6 months and still not build date. Ended up buying a cpo some old guy barely drove.
