I can average 18 mpg going 75 all day.

The truck is barely working. Yea, you may get a 1-2 mpg improvement going 55, but still way better than mpg in around town driving

I drove from Chicago to Massachusetts dead nuts on 75 mph through the flattest parts of Ohio and averaged 16.8 at the pump.
I'm talking, fill up at a rest area, get right back on the interstate, set 75 on cruise and never touch the brakes till I hit the next gas rest area with only 10 or 20 miles till empty. Had one passenger and only small bags for luggage

Whatever... it works for me. The dealer reset my trip meter @ 99 miles and it hasn't been reset since. It currently shows 18.5 MPGs @ 42K miles, hand calculated it's 18.1 MPGs. If I traveled on the interstate (75 MPH speed limit) more than once per year I'd expect to get closer to 15 MPGs.

OK. Well my brother has a Gen 2, primarily uses it around town, and also likes jack rabbit starts. His gets 11 mpg.​

I'm thinking these stock short blocks will take anywhere from 700 to 1000 Hp without issues.

I think they will be good for 1000 hp. Once the TRX is released, if Ford doesn't have an answer, the Gen 2 community is going to need a solution. And I don't think a $50k 4.2 liter build is going to be it. There are already several shops doing Gen 3 Coyote swaps while retaining full functionality. Perhaps one of them will decide to also offer a 7.3 option.

since you would only use about 1/2 tank gas to get across the entire state of Ohio, I think your story doesn’t make sense. But whatever.

The reliability of this 3.5 ecoboost is terrible.

I don’t think you need to worry. The 2020’s are almost identical (except shocks) to my completely trouble free 2017 with over 40k miles. So go ahead and jump in! Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. (And most before were Lexus).

If anything doesn't add up, it's you getting 18 "all day long" doing 75 especially if you have a Screw. Your just throwing around numbers, forum commando talk.
I never said it was a full tank just through ohio. The fact is, its flat through Indiana and ohio, which is all flat. Its 250 miles through ohio on I-80. A Scab has 10 less gallons than the screw, I was getting about 380 or a hair more miles per tank, max, on flat highway and rest area gas, not even having to get off the highway.

Do some math instead of throwing around number that definitely dont add up. Your truck doesnt get 18mpg at 75. Sorry to burst ur bubble.

He may be getting 18 @ 75. Pure highway. I can drive mine on the easier side and get 17 with a combination of city and highway @ 75mph on average. It would be mostly highway though.

So it doesn’t seem like it’s a far out mileage dream story.
