Ford Remote Access...

Searched and couldn't find anything on this here so I figured I would see if anyone has heard of it or knows of any details.

I was searching 'Ford' in my app store and came across Ford Remote Access app, put out by Ford Motor Co. It looks a lot like the program GM uses for starting from a cell phone. It would be cool if that's basically what it is, thru Ford. Says it works on 2011+ F150's..

I called my dealer and he is checking on it for me. Said he's not heard of it yet, which didn't surprise me.

Hmmm. I feel like this would be talked about more if it was an option for the Raptor owners.

It says it's an option for 2011-13 F150 plus a few other Ford models. Apparently it just came out a few days ago..

Don't you think we would know it's possible but the full technology isn't there yet? Realistically that would probably already be in the truck meaning it would be known. GM utilizes it through OnStar I believe.

They just made a website for it. Says it's under construction. I searched earlier and this never came up.

It's going to need some kind of receiver to make it work. I got a feeling that MFT is part of the equation & a phone service fee. (I hope not) Just speculating.
