Basically everything I believe is in those posts, solid axle is better at cost and carrying/towing capacity, which makes it a better choice for 90% of crawlers, since they don't want something that costs a lot to fix, and can carry a good amount of stuff out to their favorite trail, such as other toys and camping supplies, but for maximum crawling capability only, independent suspension is better
