Looks good, my concern would be the IWEs and the F-150 is ok for light duty personal plowing. If you are plowing a lot you will wear out that truck in a few short years.

The suspension is designed to handle the demands of off road and I feel,it is to soft for plowing, think about how stiff the Super Duty trucks are. The tires are to wide and will flot to much this is not that big of a deal but not ideal. The sidewalls are very soft so it seems the would be a lot of side to side motion because of the sidewall flex.

Not knocking your choice just my thoughts and I would love to hear about your feedback as you get out and use it.

Ill keep everyone posted.

20 years ago we put a 7.5 foot western on my 1994 Dodge Dakota with a V8. Same thing people thought we were crazy. I plowed with that truck for years with no issues other than putting the fan through the radiator from backing into a light post at 20 mph ;)

Tires are not an issue at all. I'm actually running km2s the identical tires I've ran on my Ford F350 for the past six years of plowing. The front suspension is more than firm enough to handle the plow. As far as the front diff & IWEs we'll see, I don't mind upgrading it down the road if need be.

The reality is where I'm at in michigan we only on average of 5-10 times a year. Plow comes off in between snowfalls so I'm not worried. I'm just thankful to generate money with it & write it off!

No disrespect and to each their own.. but why would you put a plow on a baja/off-road truck?

I live in AZ to I am just speculating but I'd say they would do it because plowing is something they do just a little (not the primary use case) and they only have a Raptor. They could buy a big 1 ton to have the perfect plowing truck for the 1% of the time they plow but then they'd have to drive a stiff ass 1 ton truck for the other 99% of the time. Much like towing. It would be foolish to buy a Raptor as a dedicated towing truck but if like most you are going to tow occasionally it could be rational

To me it's the best of both worlds. It's a sporty off road truck when I'm not plowing with it. When I'm plowing I can make money with it and it's a write off.

You nailed it. Plus we do have other trucks for our heavy towing.

Suspension is not going to be the problem.. If you have a Torsen front diff, you WILL be tearing up the IWE's!

The 1/4" metal interface of the locking ring is not strong enough and you will end up rounding the teeth..

You know this because there's been so much research done on Ford Raptors with plows? ;).

If it were to happen id be happy to upgrade it anyways.

I know.... My reputation and knowledge of the IWE system and Ford Raptors speaks for itself.

Unless you intend to plow only in 2wd and not use the 4wd system, you will have no problems.

Ford/Borg Warner integrated wheel ends are only designed for mild/slick roads (ie causal use). Unless you want to upgrade to a solid axle to increase reliability, there are NO OTHER upgrades.

If you want to beat on the same doors that I and many others have about upgrading the IWE system. Go right ahead..

Just trying to save you frustration down the road, because Ford will not warranty the IWE when you damage them (unless you are good buddies with service manager).

Y not top perch with the plow? With that weight would that not make it seem like the truck is at least on stock perch?
