FIR2525 - Firestone Ride-Rite Ford F-150 Air Helper Spring Kit
DAYKU09140BK- Daystar 6" Air Bag Cradle Kit

THE AIR BAG KIT DOES REQUIRE MODIFICATIONS TO FIT, THE UPPER BRACKET NEEDS TO BE RAISED UP BY CUTTING IT AND BOLTING OR RE-WELDING IT.

THE KIT WORKS FANTASTIC WHEN MODIFIED TO FIT CORRECTLY.

had these and bent them all to f&^%........I personally do not recommend these for anyone that really wants to off road there trucks. They don't allow articulation and actually made my truck box hit the cab under heavy articulation. When I jumped the truck the two mounts hit each other and bent both brackets. That's my 2 cent.....do what you will with it.

It sounds like you must have had them installed wrong because we've had nothing but great results from this setup. Do you have any pics you can share with us of the setup you ran?

well i reed the instructions and when they were on they looked just like the pic above. i will take pic but they are no longer on the truck. i guess they may be fine on some rough dirt roads but do not try to get your wheels off the ground!!!! trust me they were on as designed. actually i had several people including some from this forum look at them after i bent the brackets to see if i was missing anything. people have put marks on there frame from the leaf spring brackets so i dont understand how with all the brackets, bags and rubber perch how there is room for the truck to travel without something giving ie. the brackets bending. hey i tryed them after being told they wouldnt work!!!!! like i said its my 2 cents.....

Yea it looks like you don't lose any "down" travel but it looks like they sure take up a lot of your "up" travel.

I seen these On any Joe's truck... Umm... No not a good idea if your aggressive off road at all...
This is my frame.

This is a very common problem with a leaf spring rear end when you slide the truck and the rear end starts to move side to side. The problem is this is where all the brackets sit for these air bags... Zero room..
Any joe's were beat and bent all up from just sliding his truck plus as pointed out it severely limits the up travel and will donkey kick the truck.
If you skip to 3:12 in this video you will see his white & black truck running around with us. This is the day they were bent. If you watch what the front is doning compared to the rear it becomes very clear the back was not moving up just because all the rubber and brackets are stopping it..(The bags were deflated just so we are clear here) When he did get a little agressive on the gas you can also see the front soak up hits but the rear is sent flying into the air.. If you watch the other trucks in the same area it becomes very clear something is going on in the back of anyjoes truck..

Thanks for the input guys, although, I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here that I'd like to clear up:

Air bags are NOT intended to be a replacement for bump stops, they are for Raptor owners that use their trucks primarily for towing and hauling where increased load carrying capacity is needed.

For aggressive off-road driving there is no substitute for the RPG Rear Frame Support and Bump Stop Kit

The Threads Title is Long Travel Air Bag Kits.....NOT Air Bag Kits...... Because what you just posted states thay are Air Bag Kits. They were never intended and there is no misunderstanding about using them for bump stops. I pull a 26' enclosed race trailer so they were intended to incraese load capacity but i was told they will not hinder the offroad ability of the raptor. This is not true !! The only misuderstanding is the LONG TRAVEL AIR BAG KIT!!! that is really just a air bag kit with a goffy pad for the bag to sit on. So the only misunderstanding you cleared up was that these are really not a long travel air bag kit.

C'mon guys, you are all a little smarter than this! There is no magic kit that will allow you to tow an 8,000+ lb trailer and still pretend you have a trophy truck in the dirt. Either your main focus is towing or high speed offloading. You can't have it both ways and be 100% happy doing both. I see these as a perfect fit for someone that has an RV trailer that would like to cruise the back roads and maybe do some light offloading while camping. Maybe Death Valley or Anza Borrego. Not everybody wants to pretend their Raptor is a TT and beat the **** out of it. Some guys just want to enjoy the ride on road and off. For a guy with a stock truck that needs a little help towing, this seem more than adequate. If you're going to get after it or have upgraded suspension then this prob isn't the kit.
