You cannot get a Ford ESP after 3yr/36k. Something from 2010 and over you can get a third party warranty though but read the fine print really good.

Ford ESP's do not need to be purchased at time of delivery, the first 12k, the price doesn't change. Then from 12k to 35,999.9 its the same price.

What raptor did you buy this weekend?

2010 6.2L from friendly ford in NY.

The lombard Website says i can buy the premiuim care warranty since my raptor is newer than 2002 and less than 120kmiles.

I plugged in the year and mileage and it gave me all the warranties that are available to my raptor, 600 less than what Friendly ford offered me, but it also says i need an inspection first.

You might be right then. When I go to Flood Ford, you get this:
"Ford vehicles with mileage greater then 36,000 miles are not eligible for a new vehicle warranty. Please check with your local dealer for used vehicle pricing."

So it might be different for used as I do see what you mean when going to Lombard. Looks like you have to pay $98 to have it inspected regardless if purchased or not. So I would say that you don't have to get it when purchasing, it can be later. Might want to print out what Lombard will do, counting that extra $100 and see if the dealer can match it or get a lot closer than $600.

I feel like I got taken from my dealer with my Ford ESP. Supposedly it was the employee discount, but I paid about $1500 MORE than Flood Ford or Zeigler is offering them for. While at the dealer today I stopped by the finance guy and questioned his employee discount. He claims the normal ESP is $3k+. When I mentioned I could get it cheaper elsewhere, he tossed his hands up and said good luck with that.

When I asked about canceling the contract he said I needed to contact Ford directly to do so and get my money back. He then threw in that I would have a $350 inspection fee if I were to cancel my current ESP and buy a new one. His last comment was to buy a second ESP before I canceled the first, in case there were any issues.

I think he was blowing smoke, but wanted to check here. Any suggestions? Is it as simple as calling Ford to cancel, or am I out the $1500 extra? Or is it not worth it in the long run?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

There is a time limit of when you can cancel. How long did you buy it? If you financed it as part of the deal then you will not get a check but rather it will go towards your loan and your payment will not change. Then you can buy the ESP separately. Review your contract though and call ESP instead as your dealer are ********.

I recently canceled one on the Raptor that was totaled this year. Dealer had me sign a cancelation form with a prorated amount for a refund. It does take 8-12 weeks to get the money back.
Although mine was totaled, the process would have been the same. You should be able to cancel at any time. It just sucks to wait for the refund.

Pretty simple form.

Thank you. I bought the truck on the first of Nov, so 20 days ago. I financed with the loan and am OK with it going back as credit. In fact I was told by the Finance guy that I had to wait 4 months before I refi'd their loan. Yet another thing I'm pissed off at them. My bank, which I was pre-approved through, was 2.74% interest and they pushed me through their bank at 4.99%. If it does take 8-12 weeks to credit it back, I may be stuck waiting to pay it off. I was going to screw them and pay it off early as I think they are getting some kick back after 4 months.

You know you don't have to wait that 4 months they tell you. I redid mine on my previous financing with Ford before I even made a single payment. And yes the dealer does get a kick back and that is why they tell you that. I told the finance guy what I was doing and could care less, nothing he can say. Is this a BRAND NEW raptor or a used one?

Some finance people will really try to take advantage. My vehicle was purchased about a thousand miles from home. I was told that I was getting a better interest rate because I was also getting the Ford ESP plan. I signed the contract. A couple of days later, I sent the finance person an email stating that I wanted to cancel my ESP. I called Ford ESP and they said that the dealer was the only one that could cancel/refund the policy. After several unreturned calls and emails, I sent the general manager a certified letter (so I had proof that I wanted to cancel within the 30 days). Within a week I had a check (made out to me and the finance co). I then purchased a new ESP through Flood Ford for a fraction of the price. Flood is great to deal with!

What I did was printed out the Flood quote from their website. When I went to pickup my raptor and sat their with the finance guy I had it handy. As soon as he started talking ESP, I told him to stop, I know what they are and slid the Flood printout in front of him and told him to match it. He wouldn't but got within a couple hundred, told him to get within $100 and I would do it. He would not so we moved on.

I dont understand this. So he'd rather make $0 than a smaller profit, which was going to be more than $0. I don't get it.
