Ford building 2,600 Raptors per month???

I suppose it depends on what value you associate with money. If you're swimming in it, then a $5k-$10k markup may not be important to you. That said, I own a law firm in South Florida and still would not pay that out just to drive it sooner.

It's only a matter of time before the current market environment stabilizes and MSRP (and likely lower) is available. These are not LaFerrari's where waiting for MSRP is a pipe dream.

Just given the production numbers, and the amount of people who can pay $60k-$70k for what is essentially a toy (i.e. not a good work truck or tow vehicle), it has to happen somewhat soon.

And yes, Craigy, raptorfinder is awesome.

Well I paid $2,500 over for an almost exact spec that was on order....and a fair deal on my trade....I would not pay anything over that as I didn't feel it worth it....I agree they will be MSRP sooner rather than later....but for me the ADM was worth the price of early admission.....

Yes, the allocations are thin (or gone by now), but there will be more. Again, 2,600 trucks per month have to end up somewhere. This whole bit about "limited allocation" is a ruse by the manufacturers that they successfully use to convince you that you better scoop something up while you can (even if it's not exactly what you want, and even if you have to pay more to get it). Put on your tin foil cap.

Right, there are always more allocations, at least until end of production. If you wanted a custom spec in the first couple months that ship has sailed but going forward there is always another allocation.

This is hardly a limited edition rarity that the dealers are making it out to be. If anything, it's only limited to how many Ford thinks it can sell. We're looking at 30,000-35,000/year, which means every dealer should get at least some no matter how small, and some dealers will get dozens per year.

Just looking at cars.com shows there are hundreds available and we're barely six months into the first model year.

Sorry bro, but your fear of being fooled has made you a conspiracy theorist the other way. The allocations were handed out last year all at once which is what made this circus happen. It's the first time they've done it like this and it's caused most of the problems we've seen with the 2017 Raptors. Normally allocations are given out month to month so that delivery times are consistent. But they decided to give them all out in the beginning of the build year this time so that dealers weren't promising allocations that they'd think they would get. Unfortunately the byproduct of this was that no one knew when each allocation would be built. So you had unlucky people buying in July and not built until April.

This has been pretty well documented over the past 6 months and substantiated by everything we've seen. The guys who paid over MSRP aren't as stupid/illinformed as some of you guys with no trucks and a lot of lofty hopes make them to be.

Again, this sounds great, but is misinformed. All Ford dealer websites have to be integrated into Ford's system. Also, many dealer websites feed into cars.com. When a truck is built it is put in the Ford system which then shows it on the dealer website and cars.com (for those sites that are integrated). This happens even if the truck is already sold. The majority of the ones on cars.com are already sold because most of the Raptors being built now are special orders.

Even if you limit it to trucks with photos, there's still over 500. Accounting for those with stock pics, there are still hundreds of trucks available, and that's just cars.com. If a truck shows up with a photo, an internet manager went out of his way to take pics and supplement the ad. They don't do that for presold inventory or special orders.

11,000 raptors have already been built for the US market. That's a lot of raptors and by no means "limited" as the dealers claim the raptor to be. Ford messed up by handing out all the allocations at once. It created a huge backlog and the mess we are all in. There are DOZENS of raptors sitting at dealerships here in California and none are really moving.

Well, Ford stock keeps dropping. They sold less vehicles this March compared to last. It's embarrassing that Tesla is now valued higher than Ford. Maybe Ford should start selling their Raptors a bit better. I feel they would've sold a bunch more if the price were typical of a conventional buying process (over invoice/below Msrp). Typical buyers are either holding out, not putting in orders, or buying GM or Ram. Looks like the dealer is the bottleneck here. Not only that, luckily I found 1 good Ford dealer who did msrp, but I vow not to step into any of the other Ford dealers who wanted a 'market value adjustment'. In the long run, loyalty makes a difference, just takes years to see the impact.

Believe what you want, but I've spent a lot of time looking through a lot of data. I did make raptorfinder.com after all.

Just for an example my truck still shows up on cars.com with dealer pics. I bought it a month ago.

If you guys want to take a chance on finding the one you want at a great deal go for it. There have only been 5 made that match what I want so I didn't want to risk it and paid a bit over MSRP when my order sat for 6 months with no VIN. Even if every single one on cars.com were for sale none of them are spec'd the way I want them. Doesn't really help if they're selling for invoice if it's not what I want, but that's just me.

Everyone who absolutely just had to have one no matter the cost likely has one. Things will be more normal in the next model year and im guessing the bugs worked out as well as things like wheels and cf being available properly.
I think a guy will be able to get a decent deal on a 18

I'm curious how manufactuer vehicles monthly sales work? Does Ford count up what they sold to privately owned dealers only or does Ford count what dealers have actually sold to individuals?

I always figured raptor allocations were given to dealers based on how many raptors they sold or are raptor allocations given more if they just generally sale more fords no matter the model? Given a lot of dealers are sitting on adm raptors and 2017's build dates coming to a close soon. Will dealers feel pressured to relax on 2017 adm as the 2018 order banks open within a month or two?
