Well, the purpose of the build and price wasn't exactly put in place so people could more easily put in orders site unseen. It's actually there to get people interested enough to go to the dealership and buy off the lot. Of course, that's not the case for several Ford models these days, since you can't buy them off a lot.
The problem appears to be mostly with lighting, which is a somewhat difficult issue to solve. The environment lighting, angle taken, and camera used have a big impact. it would be nice if they offered the ability to see from more lighting/angles to get a better idea of what you're seeing.
However, I'd also argue that the B&P is good enough for the majority of people who are willing to buy site unseen. Certainly, Ford is selling all they can make, and I would image that most who are concerned about the smaller details are also concerned enough to want to sit and test drive before buying.
Sidenote, I don't know why people are calling the stitching bronze. It's clearly designed to match the orange/red accents on the sides and wheel, which no one thinks of as bronze.
