FIX: Door rattle B&O sound system

Like a lot of others I had a terrible rattle in my driver and passenger doors when playing music with any sort of bass. Even when the bass was set to factory. I took the door panel off and started searching for rattles.

The main rattle was from the box that says “DCU front only”. While I had the door off I lined the interior of it that touches the door frame with some sticky foam. Can get it at any hardware store. I also put some of that foam in other places I read about rattles coming from like the triangle shaped plastic piece on the A pillar

Sorry for the song choice haha but had to find a song that replicated the frequency of the rattle. Turn the sound up on the video to hear the rattle of yours is similar.

Did you have any issues with your back window rattling? That’s where mine has issues… rattles like a banshee when it’s fully opened and less and less the more it’s closed.

I found a small bolt in my driver side rear door. Kept hearing a rattle when I closed the door. Pulled it apart and found a small bolt down in the door.... needed a magnet to fish it out.
I ended up covering the interior and exterior of the door with sound deadening material. Doing the remaining doors this weekend.

i have this as well. its the small plastic piece at the bottom of the window that it tracks in. another member here said he placed some foam that put pressure on the piece constantly and that solved the rattle. i turned on some bass heavy music relatively loud then sat in the back seat and put finger pressure on it--rattle went away havent gotten around to constructing a perm fix yet though

I have that as well. That’s next on my list of things to fix. There’s an “official ford fix” for it if you scroll around on the forums. It’s a known issue and they are aware of it which is good

My truck doesn't do this but I plan on dynamatting the doors. I like the foam idea on that A-pillar trim piece.

Care to make a vid on taking off the door panel? I did it on the Gen 2. Similar process?

I have a friend coming over later and we’re gunna do the same fix for his door. I can take a video of it. Overall it’s pretty similar to the gen 2, I think it’s easier.
