So my truck is only a few weeks out now, and i have read tons about the mods you guys are doing and have found plenty of good info and idea's. My question is what was your first upgrade and what would you suggest be upgraded first? lets hear your thoughts!

A good Synthetic Oil and an FL-820S filter (has the proper anti drain back orientation vs aftermarket filters)

Oh and the turn signal mod.

I wouldn't do HID headlamps. (but it's your truck and your money)

Not only are they illegal and potentially give probable cause for a traffic stop, but unsafe to other motorists (glare, etc)

Halogen headlamp lenses were not designed for HID drop in bulbs. That's why you don't see these "kits" in your local Pep Boys or Auto Zone. It's all grey market crap.

If you do your research you will find out why that this is a hack, at best and there are better ways to engineer a headlight replacement.

thanks. i had HID's on my Silverado headlights/fogs and it was great how bright they were....the fogs were a little overkill so i only used them out in the dirt or dark highways with no oncoming traffic.

What is the turn singal mod?

Your first upgrade should be recovery gear (tow strap at the minimum) and a fire extinguisher. Lights and other things will not put out a fire or help another vehicle get yours unstuck.

Here are some ideas:

http://www.svtoffroad.com/showthread.php?321-Which-Snatch-Strap-Tow-Strap-Tow-Rope

good point.....i have a tow strap but might need to get a better one due to the higher weight of this truck vs my last......safety first!
