First time Raptor owner in SC

Hello. Just searched to find the forum as I just got my first Raptor. I've always driven Ford Trucks. My last was a 2008 F150 Harley Edition with a supercharger. Since they quit making HD Editions, I have been researching the Raptors. Saw the new F150 HD version but decided to go with a used Raptor instead. Got a 2017 with 31K miles, 802A package plus previous owner added Magnaflow D mufflers, Whipple Cold air intake and power bed cover. Maybe more that I haven't found. Love the Truck but shifting was terrible so I took it in today for outstanding seat belt recall and shifting TSB for 2017s. I'm wondering if maybe he had someone do a tune that caused the rough shifting. Anyway, we will see how it goes. Glad to be here and learn more about these trucks. Now let me figure out how to add a picture...

You’d need to elaborate a little more on the harsh shifting. You’re correct, there is a TSB for the harsh and sometimes unexpectedly harsh upshifts and downshifts . That said, sport mode does produce more firm shifts both ways and you’re not skipping any gears in sport mode so under some throttle conditions, where sport mode isn’t necessarily called for but you use it anyway, you can induce some loud and clunky shifts, even after the TSB fix.

My ’17 was held back for additional QA and had some early programming done, but my biggest complaint with shifting was that the truck wouldn’t downshift without full throttle in normal eco mode. I cajoled my local stealership to put on the latest programming updates and it made a significant improvement. Instead of the truck always trying to jump to the highest gear and stay there, boosting through every throttle input except full, now it downshifts like a regular vehicle should.

Upshifting and downshifting were all very jerky in normal mode. Almost every shift seemed either hesitant or abrupt. I disconnected the battery and left lights on to reset adaptive shifting learning and it improved but was still very abrupt shifting - especially downshifting into 5th and 3rd. The truck was almost undriveable in Sport mode because of the harshness of shifts. I just got it back from having the TSB done and it seemed to shift normally on the way home. More to come but so far so good.
