First Raptor, love it but it has issues

Good luck with the repairs
Sounds like you are getting some of the stuff figured out.
Probably going to want to stick with factory LCAs unless looking at aftermarket long travel set ups.
Saying not much off-roading, guessing not the way that you want to be heading.

Update…..front diff is out and disassembled, the bearing on the drivers side where the cv axel goes in had worked its way almost out of the case, I will post some pics but I didn’t take too many as I was crawling around underneath the truck for hours, the IWE’s were toast both made a crispy sound when depressed and didn’t move when I put vacuum on them. The phantom rattle turned out to be an old A/C compressor clutch stuck in between the steering rack and the frame so 1 issue solved. Also someone broke the cage nuts on the rear skid plate so that was a real pleasure to get off. I got new OEM ford side bearings, the axel bearing that caused this issue, new seals, all this from ford was around $55. I’m also replacing the hubs while I have this thing as apart as I do. I also have 2 broken diff cover bolts to drill out yay. The cross member bolts were in sad shape so I’ll replace those. Are there manual locking hubs I can get and just get rid of this vacuum system?

Good to see someone with some wrenching skill, motorcraft parts will serve you well on the RaptoR. I think you will like the IWE system when it works correctly, it allows shift on the fly in incliment weather.

That is some tear down.
There are IWE eliminating set ups.

This phenomenon is known as Raptor repair scope creep. It ends when the owner either replaces everything, runs out of money, or runs out of time & patience.

Further update, I dropped a shim on the garage floor and it shattered, the local Ford dealer measured and ordered me a new one which will be here Wednesday, the new side bearings have been pressed on, the new drivers side axel bearing is installed, the 2 broken cover bolts are out and re-tapped, I noticed the pinion seal is leaking so I got a new crush collar and seal and an old school beam torque wrench to get the drag set correctly. I’ve also ordered new hubs and lower ball joints while I have this thing as apart as I do. I’ve depleted my play funds for a little bit so the upper control arms will have to wait a week. I went with OEM replacement IWE’s because mine were toast. Hopefully I’ll get the diff back together during the week and the truck back together this weekend. I’ll post some pics later on when I take some, I didn’t take to many as I was working but I have a few. I’ll keep the updates coming as I get this thing back in one piece.

Even further update, the diff is assembled and back in the truck, hubs and ball joints replaced, IWE’s replaced, and everything is bolted back together. Just as I was double checking everything I noticed the vacuum lines for the IWE’s were broken and one side had a hole in it, so off to Ford tomorrow to get a new set along with the check valve and solenoid, and I need to have the tire re-balanced as I noticed it’s missing a wheel weight. Hopefully this weekend I can put the finishing touches on this thing and take finally have my truck back.
