lol. Most blends are >95% synthetic anyway. The conventional oil is used to round out the viscosity spectrum, and make it a bit cheaper. But I see you are the type to ignore facts in favor of preconceived notions.

quite the contrary. I am in the camp that 10k oil change is and has been the norm for quite aa while. just preffer full synth to a blend. so......

so if the manufacture recommendation is to use a "synthetic blend"...why would you go against that and use full synthetic???...just asking

Ford updated the Raptor Supplemental Printing (updated) to recommend full synthetic. Not sure when they did that because there are two versions for the 2019. Before it was updated, it recommended Synthetic Blend. I wonder what prompted this change?

I have a 2018 and would think that to be applicable to '17 thru '19 but was unaware the "new" supplement was released. Was this mailed out or just how did you catch wind of this update?

Yeah, a dealer has never done anything to any of my vehicles, unless warranty that required parts. I do all my own work. However, dealers are notorious for using the oil from their bulk pump/drums, no matter the vehicle requirements. The goons doing oil changes are usually the minimum wage flunkies. The flat-rate techs get the higher paying (hours) jobs. You might want to verify what they used. Not by what's on the ticket, but where it actually came from, the bulk source or individual quarts.

It was just random. The 2018 manual had full synthetic as optional oil type (and recommended for Mexico). I was just curious as to why—and stumbled upon the 2019 manual on Ford’s website, which initially recommended synthetic blend for both U.S. and Mexico. And that’s when I saw the updated manual, which now calls for full synthetic for all market.

I use mobil 1 full synthetic meeting ford spec with the FL-500S filter and will continue to do so.
