How did Ford determine the throttle actuator was bad? Did they happen to give you the old TB? After paying Ford $1300 to misdiagnose a problem you ought to be on the phone with the service manager. It is possible that the TB wasn't bad, also possible the new one is a lemon.

I hate seeing the parts shotgun come out. There should be diagnostics available for the APPS sensor and the throttle actuator.

Any chance your scanner will read the factory O2 sensors? How about fuel trims?

Does it seem to run well aside from the random shut offs? I am having a little trouble tracking the vehicle behavior from beginning to end of the thread.

This is the code I got from my scanner before taking it to dealership.
Based on trucks symptoms, research on forum and web, and lack of competence at dealer, at this point I am chasing the problem.

Replaced-
Lead frame and valve body in transmission
Optima red top Battery
MAF sensor
Throttle Body

Could mean nothing, but when truck stalls out it is almost always warmed up and while stopped at a light.

And yes I have checked for loose connections...

P2112 sets when the throttle plate is at a lower angle than commanded. Hence the stalling issue. Possibilities are throttle body, TACM+ circuit open, TACM- circuit open, TACM+ and TACM- circuits cross wired, TACM+ and TACM- circuits shorted together, or internal PCM issue.

Since you already replaced the throttle body, I would be focusing on the throttle body circuits and pin fit. All it takes is high resistance in a circuit or at a connector pin to cause throttle motor to respond improperly. Without proper voltage from the PCM to the motor, the throttle plate will effectively force it shut.

Make sure your battery is an AGM battery. Optima red top does come in an AGM but most are standard. Ford products are very finicky with the battery.

that doesn't sound correct to me... I believe all Optima's for our trucks are Spiralcell AGM batteries
