Film of oil on both front wheel wells. Are my front shocks hosed?

Yeah I am not seeing that but there is a drip puddle (now semi dried) under my truck right where the front wheels are on my driveway.

I also noticed before the car got washed that the driver's side CV boot was wet with some kind of liquid. I didn't think too much of it at the time because it wasn't soaked but now looking at both sides there is definitely some sort of lubrication material all over both wheel wells.

I'll post some pics in a couple minutes.

FYI, thanks for the reply.

Well, if its oil it aint gonna dry, just spread out....

Ok, thanks guys.

I just got a second opinion (someone else looked at it) and she agrees it was most likely the tire dressing spray/stuff.

Checked rears, but as you know the back wheel wells aren't covered in black plastic.

There was a couple splashes of what looked to be the same stuff I found up front, but not nearly as much found in the back.

Pics coming up just for completeness.

Thanks again!!!!!

See below.

Anything "wet" or shiny looking is covered in this ****.

The last pic is the stuff I wiped off on my finger. It felt like oil (not sure if detail spray has that light lubricating oil feel or not)

You can see the entire wheel wheel is covered, the springs, part of the shock tops, the front frame that you can see thru the wheelwells.

I am guessing that they sprayed an entire batch of detail oil/spray/tire dressing **** in there. LOL

I appreciate all your replies. Thanks again!

P.S. I jumped up and down on my tow hooks and the truck still rebounded and there was no jounce afterwards.

Looks like this myth might be busted!

All I see is a wheel well and shock that are WAAAAYY too clean....go drive it in the dirt for a bit and see if the liquid continues to drip after. Seriously that will show if something is leaking and give you the point of origin.
