Thanks for the responses! I will be using it as a daily driver in the winter, as well as hauling my bikes to the track with it and taking it off road on the off weekends with it to do some camping in the berkshires and the Adirondacks. I guess I'll start by seeing what Livernois can do with it as far as intake, cams, ported heads, headers and exhaust. If I can get it close to the SC numbers with a built engine for the same 12 grand as a SC from Roush costs with warranty, I'll be stoked.

I think HD national springs will cure wheel hop, if I'm not mistaken, and allow me to run it hard off-road with a couple of spares and all my gear in the bed.

Yes springs should help with wheel hop as well as be better off road than stock and won't hurt u off road like traction bars.

I've never built a raptor, only cars, but I just can't imagine that they will be close price wise. NA power always costs more than FI power. I'm not all that familiar with the Roush package but but if they're not building the internals then installing a SC is waaay less labor than going with a built/bored/sleaved block and ported heads. SC is usually bolt on + tune, whereas the block/heads obviously requires building an engine and swapping it in. Then again 12 grand is a lot for a SC, I guess you're paying for the interior etc too, so maybe it's possible. Either way can't hurt to check it out.

Of course the ultimate would be to do both, then you can play with different boost pulleys and tune all you want with less fear of blowing the engine, but that's the big bucks.
