OK, so I know there is a lot of talk about dealer ADM, MSRP, etc…. But, what about the lines that these guys use to justify their pricing? Thought it would be fun to put a list together of “Epic Sales Lines Fails”:
1). “It’s our only one!”
2). “You can’t even order these!”
3). “We are recommending that all of our customers place an order.”
4). “We can’t take deposits on new cars/trucks.”
5). “Do you want to put a deposit down and secure this vehicle for you before someone else does?”
6). “The Raptor is a “specialty” vehicle.”
7). “I’m a buyer at $5,000 over MSRP!”…direct quote from Owner of local dealer to justify their $20K markup.
8). Sales Guy - “So, what can I do to get this vehicle in your hands?”
Me - “Is your dealer marking up the price?”
Sales Guy - “Yes, ummmm, our markup is, ummmm, $20k because of the chip shortage and there are very few of them.”
Me - “Well…., I found one in the Mid-West at MSRP, so I guess I’m good…”
Sales Guy - “Uhhhhhh, WOW that’s a really good deal”…(confused monkey scratch…my pre written sales lines don’t account for this)
Me - “Goodbye…”
