Yea I saw that first hand in Grand Teton NP.
We just finished hiking Two Oceans at 2200hrs and almost getting eaten by a bear. We come around the corner, it’s see only as far as the cast of your headlights dark. I see a p/u up ahead on the side of the road With its flashers on. Hmmm I wonder if he needs help? Then all of a sudden my lights catch a Buffalo lying in the middle of the road!?! Dude had hit the Buffalo and Destroyed the front of his truck!
Luckily I only doing about 45, just because of this! Dude was alright, Rangers were on their way. You can imagine, we never went over 45 on those roads the whole 2 weeks, even though we were the only ones on the road most of the time.
