That was the service writers answer upon inspection. They called a detail guy over and asked him to look at it.. He said looks like a sealer and the sealer damaged it. I told them the only way it had a sealer was if they did it without my knowledge. They then said its a wax build up, but no wax comes off.. Then they said I washed to to hard and that it was my fault the decal failed. So after the dealer basically saying it was my problem they took pictures and sent them to Ford Corporate for review. And corporate said it failed in the graphics and would send out a replacement.. All of the things I was told were things to basically put me on the defensive to justify why it was warranty. I don't really know why and wonder if there is someplace these guys go to school to teach them to automatically blame the consumer... But due to nothing on it no sealer at all, it is covered under warranty..
what a bunch of clowns. Next time ask their detailing "experts" about the 2 bucket wash method? . I will bet you he does not have a frigging clue. I have never understood why some dealers play these dirty games. Helping a customer with a legit warranty claim will earn you his business down the road. Then they wonder why they go out of business.
Of course this does not apply to all dealers, there are a LOT of good dealerships out there as well and some very good salesman/representatives that know how earn a new customer.
As far as the graphics, although I don't have my Raptor yet I will tell you by experience that a good wax will provide some very needed UV protection and maintain a good finish for many years. I am planning on using a quality wax that won't stain any surfaces, like Meguiars Quik spray wax, Adam's buttery wax, or Meguiars Ultimate Paste Wax, among others. The minimum I would do is apply a good quick detailing spray periodically.
