Fab Fours Aero bumper, Baja S2 installed, and Alternate ACC relocation

So, this came yesterday Thanks @carid
I prepared all the tools the night before and enlisted
the help of a friend for the install.
The bumper itself is light ( 55 lbs with pre runner as per Fab fours website)
I also ordered the Fab fours relocation bracket M38501 separately
from amazon.
Anyway...after researching and reading about others experiences and issues with ACC after relocation to the upper grill area, I decided to use an alternate location. ( see pics)
I made sure to turn off the pre-collission and acc from the dash menu, before Disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

The aero bumper has an opening in the lower bumper to accomodate a 20” light bar.
Since I live in a state that requires front plate, It wouldn’t make sense to have a light mounted there.
I decided to use this location to mount the ACC bracket and re-used the oem bolts to retain the adjustability.
( iirc 19- 2020 Raptor uses a smaller ACC module and needs size E6 socket to correctly remove/adjust these bolts)
I mounted the fab fours ACC relo bracket on the lower bumper area,
drivers side, after doing the necessary trimming of the plastic Louver shroud.

I then made sure the oem louvers functioned properly, it opens and closes without hitting the ACC and its wire harness.
(We Then continued with the Aero bumper install per instructions)

Anyway...Since I still have the plastic OEM lower grill, I decided to re-use it to cover and protect the new ACC module location.
I had to cut the oem lower grill to fit, and cut the tabs in the back using Oscillating tool/ cutter (see pics) and had to drill 4 small holes on my new bumper. ( yikes)

For the Front plate...I have it mounted on the oem ford plastic mount, and used maglite D clamps to secure it to the bumper. ( see pic)
This is temporary, until I find a better mount option for the front plate.

Now, for the good news...
The ACC ( adaptive cruise control) module works as it should!
Even with the front plate attached.
I tried all the functions, using the acc in local roads, highway , distance and pacing...No issues! ( whew)

ETA:for pics and to add that, I’m very Happy with the build and quality of this bumper.
(Just wish it came with options for light mounts, on top, side or on the pre-runner)

Update: 2/3/2020 Baja Designs, S2 led lights Installed.

Weather was nice today, so I contemplated real hard on wether or not to drill, so I can re-install my BD S2 lights.
But, I found the “Fab Fours Aero” logo cut out in the bumper itself was a good spot for a possible location...So I did a mock up with the lights and ended up liking it.

Best of all, I didn’t have to drill, to mount my S2 lights.

Anyway, it would make sense, (if you plan to do something similar) to attach the lights, prior to installing the bumper.
But, as you can see, I was able to do it, using a flanged M8 bolt, toothed washer and Circlip.
A 2 foot socket extension also came in handy lol.

Awesome work on the ACC. I have been told it wouldn’t work behind steel like that as I wanted to do the same thing w my svc on order.

Thanks guys.
The opening in the bottom was perfect spot for the ACC imho.
(but, unfortunately if one plans to use it to mount a light bar,
then this mod wouldn’t be ideal)
