EZDOWN TailGate Mod.

I have the same issue with mine rising up when I close it and the retainer clip is loose. I don't have any issues closing it though and works fine on the way down. I also have the step.

I find my tailgate to be really light compared to my old F250, so I probably won't do this mod. Although, I don't have the tailgate step, so maybe that's why it feels so light.

Just found one at Cabelas of all places. Took the leap as the only one they had said it was good for 04 through 06 , but remebered trying to find this on line and reading this post . No dedicated part number . Well the sun shines on a dog's ass once in a great while . Low and behold it is the same one you guys have been useing . Going on the truck today along with an Airraid intake system I am wating for the brown truck to bring .

still waiting i guess for mine.... ordered from amazon 2 weeks ago, needed couple days for processing it happens. get the box and it looks damaged, but look inside looks all good. 2 days later open it all up and the plastic sheath its in is ripped and all that is in there is the gas shock..... no other parts at all.... grrrrrrr..... but went back to amazon, opened an RMA, and they already put in an order for a replacement and are having UPS come pick up the other one next business day (im assuming tuesday). Its not often i have to return stuff to amazon, but its usually a very simple and easy thing to do.

Just a note the bolt for the strut on the tailgate loosened up after a few weeks for me, so throw some loctite on there or check it after a week or so.

**** I just got back from Home Depot and meant to buy some as I am going to hit the Bolts on my AIRAID easy intake box as well. Thanks for the reminder...

I put a lock washer on mine to keeper tight.

I had exactly the same thing happen with Amazon TWICE now. Second one is going back and I'll find one somewhere else that is complete. Only difference was my boxes were in good shape and no rips or damage anywhere.
