Have had mine on since October. Works great. As long as you positioned the foam protector correctly and heat shrunk the cover over it, you are good to go. :peace:

Rubbing problem fixed.

Here's an update to what I did to fix my rubbing problem with the cable and shock.

Kink on the shock you have to straighten it completely.

After

Then you take 4 washers and place them between the BIG washer and bolt that is supplied and screw it back into place.

Next install 3 washers in the tailgate bolt and tighten.

Next grind down one side of shock slightly.

The whole point of this write up is for you guys to avoid this.

Now here is a video which might help understand all this better.

I did install the foam pad but that's how my cable got the kink started in the first place then it just got worse.

Whether you care to admit it, the EZ Down is a POS. Ironman's modification, while ingenuitous, should not be necessary.

I've had it for almost 2 years now and I STILL love it. Yes it has it's flaws BUT it's still a great idea.

I agree. I've only had mine for 5 months, but I am having zero issues and its great. Not to mention DeeZee sent me a spare kit for free so I should be covered for years to come. :waytogo:
