I'm right there with you Noah. I have the mindset that if someone did it on here, I can do it too.

Shit I even installed a Rogue Racing Throttle bumper by myself...

Noah, the switches are already wired up to the harness. 18 connections already done! 4 connections per relay (24 connections) already done. Mounting these relays, 6 fuses to place inline, all integrated. One cable to run thru the firewall .
I don't see how the install time would be the same?

the relay pod is nice, but would not be putting those switches in my raptor. I would be getting a second bank of the factory ones and replacing the pointless cubby on the dash. And if I needed another 4 after that I would make a custom mount for another set of factory. The Raptor switches look way better than those switch banks.

I will say the way noah has them down hidden almost actually works well.

Good feedback, thanks Silentshooter! I keep going back and forth on the Raptor switches vs the other. But as you mentioned, down low they are kind of obscured.

I am capable of building one myself. That being said I bought the SPOD and couldn't be happier with it. It's a very clean well designed system.

Gordon, do you have any pics of where you mounted the source under the hood?
Did you make you own custom bracket?
Glad to here a thumbs up! I know a lot of guys on here want to do things themselves. Me included. But sometimes it's just nice not to have to think about installing electrical systems. I'm still excited about purchasing this kit.

I mounted mine to an amp board on my cage. (It's in my build thread) the plate they sent could have been easily mounted under the hood though.
Connor has also been talking with them regarding making one specific for the raptor.

That's good info.... I'll call Connor tomorrow and see if he is making any progress.
Thanks for the information!!

Hahaha.... Found it.. Page 43 of your build thread! Nice truck Gordon. You have had quite the experience with that Raptor!

here, on frf
never said they would be the same time, just not much longer than if you were to buy a kit. regardless, you have to run wires, connect relays, and connect power. what im trying to get at, is do the things you can, save some money, and buy more mods (preferrably a stereo system....) gordon is well capable of welding and wiring and he isnt building his truck by himself. instead he decided to pay to have it done. but the difference is the amount of work involved for him. for larger projects definitely get the experts involved. thats why we the vendors are here, but for these smaller projects get the feeling of accomplishment knowing you did your project how YOU wanted it, and not settle for whats available. i get people in my shop almost on a daily basis asking us to fix a problem of some sort. a lot of times, i can tell the customer what to do because of how easy the fix is. most of the time they have been calling or stopping around for the cheapest price to fix it and everone quotes them a price on labor. we have decided to go the opposite route and help our customers as much as we can. if its an easy fix, they are happy and grateful for the free help. if the customer doesnt have the time, then of course we charge labor to look at it. i along with all the other vendors here are more than happy to help anyone out at any time. i go by a saying. "my advice is always free. if i offer it to you, i do not expect anything in return." so if you decide you want to take this project head on, you know where to find me. i dont wander far from the forum. if time is not an issue, definitely at least look into what it would take to do it yourself. you may find, its not as bad as it appears.

You guys are missing the point here...
image.jpg. I am quite capable of building a car/truck. This is a car I spent 3 years building..... All mechanical, all electrical etc. now, I just want to buy a simple upgrade for more accessory switches on my Raptor without doing it myself. The Spod is the perfect solution for me :)
