Hi everyone I am new to this forum I recently purchased a 2019 raptor with 18,000 miles and I noticed a lot of exhaust periodically coming out of the tail pipes. It definitely looks like it’s burning oil every now and then. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Welcome to TRF.
Yikes! Haven't seen anything like that yet but I only have a few miles on. If you stick your finger in the tailpipe, do you notice any oily residue?
(Waiting for @Oldfart to work his magic with my last sentience...)

Welcome aboard. I hope your skin is thick? You will need it for this site. So plz post some pics of the truck.

Is the smoke coming out of the tailpipes blue? Or can you smell burning oil? I ask because white smoke which is condensation vapor in certain climates is quite normal in these trucks. Once up to operating temp it fades.

Also you will get some oil consumption if you drive the truck aggressively, but it’s not a whole lot still. There was also a TSB out for valve covers up to a certain month even on the early ‘19s. So this could be the issue if we are taking a lot of consumption.

@K223 is right. These trucks puff a ton of steam when it’s cool/cold.

In addition to his suggestions, which all seem spot on, give the exhaust a sniff. (Don’t lock yourself in the garage and pass out) Wait for it to run for a min or two, then give the tail pipes a light sniff.

If there is oil (blueish smoke) you’ll be able to smell the oil in the exhaust vapors, usually. If you have a head gasket problem, you’ll be able to smell coolant. (And the exhaust will be more white in color.)

Good luck, hope it’s all good.

Welcome to the place. Post a pic of that Raptor and whatever smoke is coming out the tail pipe.
