Found this on YouTube this morning. Quite a leak!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8P_Aburg8I

Good video of a windshield leak at the top left corner. If the sun roof where to leak that bad you would be wet at the point of the leak. My next door neighbor works for a glass replacement company and he sees this a lot in the 2015 and 16, Fords and Chevys. He says at times when he removes a bad windshield that they do not have the sealant in the upper corners. But a good find on your part and thanks for the link! I have had my Raptor for 5 days and had two bad rain storms and washed twice no leaks and no rattling of any kind. Also own a 12 Explorer that has the big sunroof and has never leaked.

I have been back and forth on the twin panel. So far I've read about mall crawlers and long highway mileage vehicles but no Baja inspired trucks going 50 through some whoops with a twin panel. I would think that body flex and vibration would pose an issue to alignment and seal wear over time. Especially due to the sheer length of the SCREW dual panel moon roof. Anyone think that would exacerbate the problem? Any owners know how the rails are attached to roof? is the extra weight and vibration making those connection points loose and causing noise? I think it boils down to will you use the vehicle as depicted in ads or will it be your daily driver. Fast rough roads NO twin panel, Daily driver twin panel. Also the truck is if your lucky 70k what's the cost gonna be to really fix that in 3 years post warranty?

Don't think it's that complicated. If you like sunroofs, get it, if you don't, don't. This is not new technology, no need to be afraid of it. You will probably break other things before the sunroof if you are driving 9/10 on dirty roads.

I live on a 2.5 mile long dirt road and am surrounded by hundreds of miles of poorly maintained dirt roads here in northern PA. I enjoying driving as fast as safely possible on these roads. For the reasons you listed, I declined the moonroof when I ordered my truck. I saw it as a potential long-term headache.

I had originally planned to buy a raptor but gave up when the wait times for carbon fibre and bead locks became an issue.

About a month later my local dealer got my exact truck in, but with the moon roof as well..... so I have the moonroof.

No issues so far!!! For me it stays closed 99% of the time.
