Engine knock

I have a 2018 Is anyone experiencing a engine knock similar to a Valve tappet noise?

I got 34,000 miles on it, it’s going in to the dealer, Ken Groudy Buena Park CA , where I bought it it’s my second one from them, they treated me pretty well so far, we’ll see !

2017 here and yes but already had cam phaser and guides changed. So I'm letting make noise till the wrench comes on.

Might just be gdi typical noise.

what do you mean by knock? how do you see it or you here it? are you tuned?

i have had my nguage show my knock to jump up above +5 only when im cruising the same speed and light on the throttle it decides to spike up then down, if i let off the gas and press it again it instantly goes back to normal range. ive had the tuners send me bunch of revision maps but nothing helps, even tried 5 star tunes and it does it to sometimes, its not all the time but once every few minutes it spikes up then back down , i dont understand why and this is with e50 mix to where it should be more knock resistant

I used to have people ask me if the 18 was a diesel lol. The 20 has no knock.

What you’re referring to is called detonation or preignition it has nothing to do with the knock or ticking noise that were talking about .
