As much as I love my rig, I really dislike the electronic parking break feature. I just don’t trust it. I feel that it’s not as reliable as the older generation mechanical pedal ones.
This one is designed to disengage if the truck is in gear and the accelerator is depressed, which seems like a convenient feature, but I just cant stand it.

With a traditional mechanical brake, you know for sure once its engaged, there is very little chance it’ll disengage. With this electronic thing I get the feeling that it is more prone to malfunction.

what do you guys think?

What? The GEN2 Raptors have this?
Holy cow, with that kind of design thinking, no wonder the new trucks are so expensive!

Much ado about nothing is what I think. I have the traditional foot brake on my 2018 but have driven plenty vehicles with an electric brake and I don’t have an issue with it.

Back the day we had a horse carriage. No transmission or locking rear diff. It worked very well, could go anywhere in that thing!

I can feel mine engage and the truck move and bind up slightly when I push the button. It's not going anywhere, and it won't disengage if a door is ajar...
