Howdy,

I have a 2013 Raptor, and before I run it in, I figured I'd check with the real experts.

In the last few months, I cannot get SiriusXM to connect 100%, it'll work intermittently, despite signal refreshes. Maps stopped working, so I thought it was the card. But the card reader doesn't work, so I checked all the fuses. Finally, when I needed to charge my phone, I found the USB connector couldn't do that, so I broke out the multimeter.

USB are reading 1.2V, and the 110V in the backseat is reading 90V.

To rule out the battery, I pulled it out, and put it on a trickle charger, and put it back in. Same problems.

I don't know that that rules out the battery, as maybe it just can't push enough amps for the downstream conversions, but is there a transformer or something I should check? Or is this a grounding issue? Or is this just a simple battery replacement?

What should I check?

Thanks much.

Forgot that the 90V shows open ground on a receptical checker, but I figure that is common.

Did you test it when running? I think it needs full alternator voltage to put out 110.

Based on what you have posted so far take a look at the grounds for that receptacle, also check the battery to chassis and body grounds. If your still having problems later I will duplicate your tests on my truck and let you know what I come up with.

I tested it while idle. I'll look at the grounds as soon as I can. Thanks for the response.

Ended up being a faulty media hub, which is on back order. Not sure I want to risk buying a used one, and Pull-A-Part doesn't have any trucks that would have one.

So I pulled it out. I'm without maps, but the media hub is powered by a USB connection, that gives a steady 5V, so I can use that to charge the phone with a micro to USB female converter.

And Sirius is back, working, now, so I guess the main media center was waiting on CAN response from the media hub, before it continued on.

Either way, going to try to replace the media hub if I can, and if not... I guess I'll be without maps.

Nice work, I learned the hard way that we must trouble shoot on our own. There is a wealth of knowledge on FRF like yourself.
