An extra clutch plate and maybe different tuning, other than that its the same. The same tranny went into the 500hp Raptor R, and Ford overengineers everything.

I thought the "80" in 6R80 denotes 800ft/lbs torque capability.

I bumped into a guy at Manhattan Beach REI who had his 5.4 Raptor there also. He obviously hits it pretty hard, because he was even starting to get some frame flex (observed by different gaps between cab and bed on both sides). Anyways, he had this kit on his Raptor. He told me Edelbrock borrowed his Raptor for a month and installed the kit at wholesale price in exchange for letting them test during that month. He had nothing but good things to say. Here are the highlites:

1. Turns the raptor into a point and shoot machine
2. Easier to stay on top of the whoops (hence his bent frame lol)
3. The additional power takes some of the slush out of the shifting
4. Works perfectly with off road mode and the electronics

Sounds like there's no reason NOT to do this!! Who'se first?

Bottoming out the rear suspension HARD will mess up the gaps between the cab and the bed... at the top the gap widens and at the bottom it gets narrower. I've seen it happen after someone hit really hard after getting some major air. I doubt you'd bend anything by just driving hard over rough ground... I think it takes those really big hits to mess something up.

And the Edelbrock kit is certainly nice!

Last I heard Edelbrock still didn't have the calibration right but this was back in November.

Who did you hear this from? I talked to a guy who had it on his truck and he said it was great.
