I FINALLY got around to modding a carry system for the E&G vault. I also felted it like Ozark427 did. I used a Vaultek Universal Single pistol rack with mag holder and modded it to fit. I had to take a little over 1/4" off the whole one side where the mag holders are. A big pain in the ass, but I couldn't find anything I liked better. It seems to work well now. I set it up for my SIG mongrel, X-Carry upper with a full size frame. I originally made it as a goof/joke to compete in a "BUG gun" match, but I ended up really liking how it shot and kept it as is. I love my SIG's.

Glad you got it squeezed in! Looks great! Maybe the felt is why you had to trim mine was very tight but I didn’t trim the sides. I may slide mine forward like yours to keep the pocket in the back

I ordered my E&G safe from @Nick@Apollo-Optics yesterday. I'll probably line the inside with something to keep the Glock 20 from rattling around.

I got mine from Nick also, great guy to deal with. I used the same felt Ozark427 did. It seems to work well.

That's strange because there was no way it would EVER fit, before or after the felt. Either the safe changed a little, or that Vaultek changed. I had to take a solid 1/4" off the one side. I basically cut off the entire plastic side on the mag side. It would not fit past the lip at the top without doing that. I had seen some guys a while ago posted that they used it. The only other way it would have fit is if I cut back the lip around the top of the safe, and I definitely didn't want to do that.

Did you use the double pistol, or the pistol with mags like mine? It actually fits in real nice now, I left the foam full width and it squeezes itself in nice and snug now.

I used the double pistol and a dead blow hammer to get it past the lip :) it popped apart but I put it back together once it was past the lip it and fit like it was made for it lol

The old, "Get a bigger hammer" technique! Mine would have been in tooth pick sized pieces if I did that. Maybe the one with a mag side is a little bigger, or else my vault turned out a little smaller.

I’d just assume not have to specifically lock and unlock the safe every time I get out or in the truck. I keep a full size duty pistol secured in my vehicle and a separate smaller CCW pistol on my person. If I’m going somewhere that I can’t carry a pistol on my person there would be two in the safe.

Exactly.

oh and can't help myself.

The desert eagle is for two types of guys.

1. The guy that saw too many movies
2. The guy that already has everything else and got that piece of junk as a joke.
