Got mine today and installed this evening in less than an hour with my two year old son “helping” fits great exactly what I was looking for.

Didn’t measure the bolts but assume they were 2” as all went in pretty easily as long as I guided the plate with one hand and bolted with the other (front bolts first helps)

IMHO the bottom plate definitely makes it theft proof but you could probably just get some self tapping bolts of the same size and screw directly to the plastic in the bottom of the console. I can’t imagine anyone could pull it out as there is nothing to grab on to. Install would take about 5 minutes

no the safe is great and works but I feel the 4 dial combo even though there are 9999 combinations can be opened in 20-30 min by scrolling through the numbers. Electronic locks disable after xx attempts for xx minutes and are more secure ( and expensive)

I tried to replace the lock but their top plate is actually cut to the shape of the existing lock so it fits within.

So, someone is putting in a 4 digit code every .18 of a second with that math??? Must be one damn fast thief!

Received the gun vault for Father’s Day and installed this morning. Similar to others mine came with 1 1/2” bolts that wouldn’t thread. Quick trip to the hardware store for some 2” and good to go. This really fits nice with the tray. I wasn’t thrilled about losing the bottom rubber pad so I trimmed it to fit around the vault then used the carpet that came with the vault as a template for inside. I added some Velcro 2”x4” strip to hold my mile pistol case. Overall 9/10 with 1 point deduction for the bolts.

I did the same with the rubber pad. Also thinking about swapping out the bolts for some button head hex head bolts to make it fit more flush

I also fought with trying to get the supplied bolts to work. Went to Home Depot and got longer bolts.

I also would suggest you get a cigarette lighter lowered set of LED lights. I found one on Amazon that had four light strips attached. I placed two inside the safe and two outside to light up the space next to the gun safe. Now I can see in the black abyss

My wife thinks I only have 3 guns
