I think @FordTechOne is on the right track. I kept tracking a popping noise as I would back into or out of my driveway for months. It was the rear leaf springs that had a hot spot between some of the leafs. After talking with Jeff and Scott at Deaver I disassembled the leaf springs and coated them in a silicon coating then reassembled and popping noise was gone. Good luck.

Let’s see, after market parts causing the issue. Does this tell us how much more engineering and testing Ford did compared to after market.

That sounds similar to earlier this year when a few of my torque arm bolts came loose.

I just caught that it is in 4A. Might be as simple as the hubs locking in or splines lining up? Leave it in 2wd and call us in the morning.

Would it matter on a cold start up? I thought the truck kept the hubs locked when it’s ‘cold’ / not up to operating temps.

No, it doesn't. If it is the leaf springs binding, that can happen on the OEM ones too, although less likely because they are super ****** with literally 4 leafs :snoopfacepalm:

What he’s saying is the OEM requirements for NVH are much more robust than aftermarket. Not necessarily the actual performance of the spring.
