It is interesting to see how many failures there are on such low mile vehicles. My dealer is a PIA to deal with, but it seems like there isn't a simple fix on the horizon so I will likely end up with the dealer soon. If anyone comes up with an answer, I look forward to seeing it.

UPDATE: well somewhat anyway. so this weekend i bought an online factory repair manual and took my meter to task on the driver seat. couple things confirmed. There is alot of conflicting information on the web and the current "fixes" may or may not even apply to a gen 2 to current raptor. My task and research is FOR heated and cooled seats and or 802A trucks. i do have an open circuit on my element on the butt cushion.
1) these trucks appear to have the cooling fan (TED) device only for blowing cabin air into the seat. not operational during heat
2) they do have a separate heat element for bottom and backrest
3) heat and cooling brains come from the SCME module but this module is integrated into the memory module on our trucks. there may be the standard seat module but its only there if you have rear seats that are heated. so the melted pin scenario probably doesn't apply to our front seats. No pins were burnt on my module

Today i ordered a part number that the dealer gave me for the element but when you go to find it online it doesn't show a specific vehicle. The only other options that do show up online are the whole pad for 350$ which might not have all the sensors, the other option is just north of 1K. both "appear" to also have the element built in. there is another part number for a pad that i did order for 100$ to see if i can use it and put the new element on it, and revitalize my pad.

So headed my way are a heat element and a 100$ pad to see if it actually has the element built in as its kinda shown that way online and or be part of my fix.

Once i tear into the seat i will know more.

Overall fix could be 50$ heat element, 350$ pad with heat element, or 1K pad with heat element.

For those out of warranty anyway.

Please let us know if you actually receive the element. I have ordered it twice, just to have it canceled a week or two later because it was not in stock. Thanks for doing the legwork.

This is what I got from Tasca on Dec. 14. Best of luck, maybe they will have it now.

While reviewing your order (Order 1566496) for processing I've discovered an issue. Part # JL3Z-14D696-Jis currently on national backorder with the automotive manufacturer and has no estimated date of resupply. We do not currently have this item in stock at our warehouse and are unable to acquire it at this time. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, sometimes the demand for certain parts and accessories exceeds manufacturers’ current supplies. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Got the dreaded back order message today. It’s confirmed no eta on replacement for the heater element. Going to try and hunt one somewhere in stock. Alternative maybe to buy the pad with the element already mounted but that’s at least $350 could be 1k. There is a very close part number for a super duty, may have to trim the actual felt but pad probably would work? May be worth a shot? They seem to be in stock just not sure they have the necessary ohm resistance to keep the module happy. The manual says like .6 to 2ohms is nominal. Sucks...

Did you get a look at the element, able to find the break?
I wonder if you could jumper across the break if it's visible. lol.

I havent pulled it yet. was waiting on parts of some kind before i do. may investigate the superduty option?

Well this adventure makes my pia dealer look like a great option. Good luck!

The dealer wont even be an option. they cant get the part for the fix its essentially gone or not available for the foreseeable future.

I think the only way to do it legit would be to find a new seat cushion bottom with the element and sensors already installed. that part is either $350 or 1K depending on options on the truck. Pretty sure an 802A will be the 1K. have to dig a little more on the part etc.
