Hi all,
I have a question for anyone that can help. I have a 2011 Scab that I bought new, and have 31,000 miles on it. It has been off road many times, as well as, out in the dunes at Glamis. Just returned home from glamis on Thursday, and when I pulled into my garage to unload all our gear, I noticed a few drops of fluid on the ground under my truck. I grabbed a flashlight and was surprised to see that there was quite a bit of fluid that had sprayed all over the underneath of my truck. Now I ran it pretty hard for three days, and never noticed any issues. I did check my center cluster a couple of times and it stated that my tranny temp was running 237 degrees which surprised me. Normally it runs around 197-201 degrees. Now here is the strange part that I can't figure out, as of today no more leaks. I went to my Ford dealership yesterday, and it was still dripping, but not at a very fast rate. It's coming from the very front of the transmission just behind the oil pan, and it appears there is a weep hole built in??? Just thinking I ran my raptor a little hard and the system needed to relieve some pressure and everything is sealed back in place?? Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them. Like I said, I've ran very hard off road in the past, and no issues. I was running the sand highway, and most of the surrounding dunes, which I have done in the past with no issues. I do have a tune, CAI, mid perch and 35" General Grabbers. I plan on taking it back to Ford on Monday morning first thing to talk to a tech. Thanks for any response in helping me figure out this issue.

I think you're right that it's your trans relieving pressure from overheating. I've never had mine get that even towing in the texas summer heat. Does it run at that temp consistently, or just when you got back?

If I were you, I'd just check the coolant levels and take it to the dealership like you were.

Hi, coolant level is good, no issues with the tranny whatsoever. Everything appears to be running fine, except for the drips. All my levels are good, oil, tranny fluid etc.....The thing that puzzles me is the fact that the dripping has stopped. I was running in 4 hi, with traction control off, rear diff locked, and off road mode on when in the sand. Also weird that I noticed it when I got home, granted it's a 4-5 hour drive from Glamis back to my house in Orange County. Just sure that any dripping or leak is probabely not a good thing. Thanks for the reply.

There is a tsb on a leak from the connector on the front of the trans. Make sure its not the bulkhead connector.

Check for a TSB for transmission pump seal . You may have to push it a bit right before you take it in to service, in order to get it really warm to reciprocate the leak. It workef for me after 3rd time in. Good luck

Sounds like a plan, bcerri; I know they'll get to the bottom of this for you. I'll hang around this thread to see what you find out. If you need my help, just give me a shout!

Hello everyone, thanks for all the posts about my question. I took my truck first thing this morning and dropped it off when they opened at 7am.....drove around town for about 45 minutes to get the temp of the tranny up to normal operating temperature. The service tech that I spoke with on Friday was there, and I'm glad he saw the leak that day, because it appears to have stopped. Anyways, still waiting to hear from Ford, and when I do, I will definitely let you know.

Hi all, Got my truck back yesterday from ford. The tech stated that it was the Transmission bulkhead seal that was failing and due to that it was creating the leak. Had it replaced, and the tranny completely serviced......good as new. I have the ESP coverage, and was very happy with how everything went. Like all of you, I love my truck, and am glad everything worked out. Thanks again for the input....Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!
