There it is... the get something else argument. Look, I don't think it's such a big problem to do a quarter mile every now and then just to see what the truck can do in the quarter. I could gave a rat's ass what other people are getting. I'm not doing it to race other people. I was just trying to get some advice on the best way to do it, not the "go buy a Corvette instead" answer. How in the hell is that helpful and/or useful? Thanks for the REST of the advice, gentlemen. THAT was helpful.
The 60 count is supposed to be in Feet, the 1/4 track run in my photo album was on regular pump gas, and the iTSX was after the original custom tune was tweaked and pushed to 93 octane only. it's really not too far off, and i have found for a 1/4 mi run 4 high ran a little better, not a huge difference, but when i shift to 2nd and 3rd, i'll normally spool it out to abut 6200 rpms, and when i shift, it does slip a little, but it's virtually unnoticeable in 4 high.
Getting mad about someones advise on a forum isn't helpful either. Especially with the way you phrased your original question. You wanted advise from people who knew more about these trucks than you do and then you get all huffy when they tell you the truth?
A Raptor is not built for speed (Doesn't claim to be either) and you will probably not be very impressed at all at what it can do in the quarter mile. Unless your expectations are low and are including the fact that its a 6k lb Off-Road Beast...
Good luck
Here is one...

It's not going to hurt anything by going straight down the strip in 4x4. It will add some wear over time but nothing will likely just break unless significant power is added which damage during launches would be expected. The diesel guys have been launching on the strip/street in 4x4 for what, 10 plus years now. Some well past the 10 sec, 130mph range. I know/raced guys that did it weekly. It's common and an advantage specially on a slick street. Have fun.
