That start stop feature is the first thing I disable when I got the truck. The 2nd day!

I’ve been fortunate to visit a lot of places in Europe, most of which by motorcycle but a few years ago my employer sent me to Ireland and no, they would not spring the extra euros to give me a bike. So I had car with right hand drive, had to drive on the wrong side of the road and the car had the start stop.

I thought operating a car on the wrong side would be problematic for me. I’ve done it by bike without issue, but the controls are all the same on a bike whether you’re on the right side or wrong side. Right hand drive didn’t throw me as much as I thought it would.

I also thought the start stop would give me trouble - I toured Paris with a coworker, in his personal car. As he came to stop in the Arc de Triomphe, his car stopped. “Nico, your car stalled ! Do you need me to push?” he laughed and said ‘no, all our cars do this, they start right back up’ :)

I found that you can restart the car just by lifting the brake pedal and re-depressing it and the car stays running ... so you can get the hole shot on the caravaner next to you at the light :happy160:

Sigh, that is extremely annoying I have to hit a button every damn time the truck starts to disable auto start stop. Why the hell can't they just put a toggle switch so it's automatically off if you left it in the off position.

Damn car makers do this with seat heaters too. My Infiniti has a toggle and it's set and forget. Yes I want seat heaters every day in Michigan winters. In our jag xfr I have to hit my and wife's seat heaters and then steering whee heater and then hold dynamic mode for 2 seconds (at least this stays activate for 6 hours after engine shuts off if you start back up within that time you don't have to press dynamic mode again).

Video on how to permanently disable :)

Fantastic! Thank you!!

I'd still prefer a toggle, maybe I would like start stop some times, but I don't want to have to disable every time I start the truck so this is mod number one for me.

On a small car, like my wife's prius, fine... on a 7000lb truck... NO! It DOES NOT just shut off the engine... it LOCKS the steering up also. It is dangerous and just down right stupid.

Thanks for the bitch-slap ya smartass!! :) I've been so damn busy that I 've hardly even driven it. Had it 2 wks today and it's got a whopping 200 miles on it. It's funny because it has to be the start stop feature then because I've been watching the tach and it goes from 500 to 0 at a complete stop which I thought was kinda odd.....:specialed:
