Dealer scanned my key code in the service lane for no charge, took longer to go get the scanner.

If you have the code from the sticker on the module try entering into the keypad then within 5 seconds press and release 1-2 then within 5 seconds press and hold 1-2 for two seconds. This will clear any personal codes set and the code from the sticker will work the keypad. If this does not work you will need a dealer level scan tool.

He also shows how to display the key code using two smart key fobs towards end of video.

I would imagine this operation would show the factory or latest module installed key code since that is all it's reading but not 100% sure.

Even if code has been changed the factory key code can be used to reset. It's in the manual:

Erasing a Personal Code

Enter the factory-set five-digit code.

Press and release 1·2 on the keypad within five seconds.

Press and hold 1·2 for two seconds. This must be done within five seconds of completing Step 2.

All personal codes erase and only the factory-set five-digit code will work.
