You know what...complaining the Raptor has bad gas milage is like saying eating a **** TASTES like eating a ****. I don't know about you, but i didnt buy the Raptor for its "amazing" gas milage. People always ask me "hows the gas mileage in that thing, Crappy!?!" I always say "yep, but a hellofa fun truck thats decent on long trips and i'll be pulling out out in the winter"

I drove to Innsbruck, Austria from Stuttgart, Germany in my beast last weekend for a snowboarding trip (no pics of the beast in the Alps since my driving was at night mostly...next time :D) its a 350 KM (217 miles) trip one way. I parked it at the hotel in Austria sitting at HALF A TANK with a total of 225 miles driven. I clicked over to my mileage computer, and it read 13.8. That was about 75% on das Autobahn and 25 % winding mountain roads (up and down). I was actually excited on the fuel economy I achieved. I had similar numbers on the return trip. I filled her up in Austria (100Euro) and set off back home. That was sunday and just TODAY filled her back up with 50 supposed miles left on the tank, with some city trying to and from work Monday and today.

PROOF I was in Austria lol

My preference is to "Do my best to enjoy the planet" while not destroying it.

I tread lightly as possible in a 6000 lb. Raptor SVT

Based on our last update, the Raptor is averaging 12.7 mpg. And that's with a lot of long-distance driving in the mix. I've been driving around the past few days with the trip computer set to display average economy. It hasn't gone any higher than 12.1 mpg.

I did a 350 mile road with my stock 6.2L this past Friday. I averaged 80mph(there was some 85mph stretches ) on the freeway, did a little bit of city driving, and still averaged 14mpg. This is still better than what I get with my 2003 F250 with a V-10.

If I was to slow down to 65mph and do some hypermiling, I am pretty sure I could bump the mpg up to 17-20mpg. Who can drive that slow anyways?

honestly, the mpg's in my Raptor vs my lifted 2004 silverado crew cab are horrible! my silverado walked all over this thing when it came to filling up. but at the same time, if i did 1/4 of the things to my silverado that im currently doing with my raptor i would have spent more time on a tow truck than actually driving. So is the lesser mpg's worth it? well if you dont know the answer to that question you clearly dont own a Raptor!

I just wanted to say that I am no way jealous or envious of you driving your Raptor to the Austrian Alps to go snowboarding. Yes, I am perfectly content here working and waiting for my Raptor to arrive here in the Alp-free US. I'm not at all jealous. NOT AT ALL. :D
