Old racing rule of thumb...

For every 5 pounds unsprung, equals an equivalent of 1 hp/trq. (this goes for gaining or losing weight)

Sprung weight is a Lil different...

For every 25 lbs, equals an equivalent of 1 hp/trq.

Take it with a grain of salt. Your not racing so it's not that critical, but you probably will feel a difference.

The DuraTrucs properly weigh less the any other tire out there.
So the combo is likely close to the original setup.

I think you're right

Approximate Weight
17" Trophy Duratrac = 87lbs
18" Trophy Duratrac = 93lbs
Stock = 97lbs

Either way he cant go wrong.

I like the sounds of 10 lbs less rotating mass per corner than stock than 4 lbs. Yep, sticking with 17s. thanks for all

I noticed the additional 4lbs per wheel with my Procomps. It's slight, but I notice it. Doesn't bother me as the wheels look awesome and make the truck look way more aggressive.

Yea no prob. Like I said take it with a grain of salt. It may not be perfectly accurate number wise.

But unsprung weight is the absolute worst area you can add weight. Takes more torque to turn those wheels over, takes more braking power to stop them as well, More work the suspension has to do too when cycling through the stroke.

Look at high end race cars, they use carbon fiber rims, carbon fiber brake discs, carbon fiber control arms, linkages, etc..... Each corner may weigh 5 pounds haha.

You can add 500 pounds to your bed and barely notice it, but add 10 pounds per corner and you will notice it.
