I bought my truck used and just noticed the button in the driver footwell. I followed the cable to the passenger footwell and found this gray box.

It’s definitely not oem as you can tell by the wiring.

Anyone have an idea to what it is?

I already put the panels back on, I can take it off and take some better pictures later. But here is what the wires were.

A blue with black line wire is cut and routed to/from the box.
A green with white line wire is tapped into.
A white with yellow line is tapped into.
A white with blue line is tapped into.
And then there’s a ground to the chassis with a self tapping screw.

Green white at the BCM looks like the horn switch.
I cant find a Blue Black wire anywhere. If you could verify that blue wire?
I would guess its some tracker with a kill switch from the previous owner. I would remove it regardless.

Looks like one of those really cheap/useless aftermarket alarm systems that dealers install and then try and upsell during the sale. They use quick splices and butt connectors (red in your photo) to hack into the factory harness, which compromises the wires by cutting into the strands and exposes them to corrosion/damaged.

I would recommend removing it and repairing any of the wires that have strand damage or otherwise.
