Looking at getting the SE with the black line-x type coating - was wondering how it holds up in terms of appearance - seems as though those types of coatings are a bit tough to keep clean.

Those of you with the black coating have any comment on how it cleans up?

I debated both finishes as I had diamondbacks on my SD trucks. I ended up with the polished aluminum on my leadfoot Raptor and really glad I did. Coordinates with the front skidplate so looks better than I thought.

I went with the SE rather than the HD, as Im not hauling over 400 lbs. on top. Main reason is easier to clean and not as hot surface temperature for climbing on top on hot summer days. I think the Black looks a litter more macho, but no regrets.

Diamondback covers are a no brainer compared to anything else on the market, no comparison, not even close!

thanks for the response - wasn't even considering the polished - will take another look with the front skid plate in mind - mine is also a leadfoot - in either case I'm definitely going with diamondback

I just thought I’d chime in here, I really like my coated diamondback hd on my 17 Avalanche that I have had for a year now. It was my first upgrade on my raptor. I just installed a diamondback headache rack two days ago, I like the fit and finish on the rack, but I can’t give a good or bad feedback because two days isn’t enough time for a rating.

They work great. Tip - make sure the damn thing is bolted in tight. And then double check the tightness every so often. Mine flew off at the dunes. Thrashed all of the hydraulic posts, but didn't hurt anything else. I would suggest getting the coating, you will be surprised how much you start using to carry things you'd never thought possible. Amazingly weathertight if you insure the rubber is kept straight and in good shape.

Amazing yo don't see more of these on these trucks. They look great, and the HD can hold something like 1600 pounds. Never did that, but never worried about standing on it when I needed to be higher to see something......

The deal killer for me is that they make loading the bed with a bunch of gear very difficult. I have five fairly heavy steel scuba tanks, and I like loading them against the front of the bed.

If you want to have a dance party or load an ATV on top…it’s a pretty sweet cover!!!

Anyone have one with the factory ramps installed?
Is it possible to even to install the Diamondback with the ramps and if it is possible how easy is it to remove the ramps to use them?
Thanks

I've had one for several years and I installed a Cargo Glide inside which is great for pulling out and putting things in up front. It does eat up about an additional 2" but nothing major. It makes the DB much more effective IMO.
