It was mentioned in another thread, but I think a few hundred of an off-road only v8 raptor at around 250k. Just like the bronco. No way there’s a version available to the masses. At this point, if I had to have a v8, I’d buy the TRX.

Raptor Lightning, sign me up. The Cybertruck doesn’t exist, the Hummer EV is a clown car, the Rivian is lame.
You obviously haven’t driven or sat in a Rivian. I’ll give you that it’s much smaller than the Raptor but otherwise “lame” is definitely not the right adjective. I do admire your strong opinion and I do like the idea of Lightning Raptor.

The Raptor R may have been approved as something of a response to the TRX, but Ford isn't going to can it simply because of this announcement from a competitor. They've already spent money on development, marketing, worked it into their EPA numbers, allocated parts (entire engines) from other product lines, etc.

A Fortune 50 company isn't going to cancel a halo product that's already well under development because the competition decided to stop making a part.

Combustion engines are here to stay for a long time. Just because EV’s are being pushed hard at the moment doesn’t mean they’ll work in reality. So much still needs to be accomplished before EV’s become standard. My guess is at least 30 years, more likely 50. And a lot can change during 30 years. Raptor type R and TRX will continue, even if they’re temporarily “discontinued”.

I do hope EVs do take off at some point. There’s nothing like driving those torque monsters. But before the charging infrastructure and battery tech is tried and true, I’m not interested.

I'm not interested in getting rid of my v8 vehicles but I would be interested in an EV for sure. 30 - 50 years, bro, you're smoking crack, lol. You better get rid of Biden and get Trump back in office if you want that to be true, even so, we are out numbered by people who think different. EV's are coming and the sooner you get on board with that idea, the less crying you will do later on. Don't take this as being harsh, I'm laughing, it's just the internet. :favorites37:
