Just guessing, but the trailer will actually hold the batteries, or most of them, in that case. So perhaps if the trip is under 400 miles are so, there would be no need to recharge for a trip. Or perhaps you can switch out batteries more easily. That does resolve all issues by a long shot, but I don't think we're going to see truckers waiting on charges like that.
Imagine the fantastic fires an 18 wheeler with all those batteries would make.

According to Dodge Division Chief Tim Kuniskis, the days of the iron block supercharged 6.2-liter V8 are numbered. Due to strict federal emissions and compliance fines. He also mentioned that the performance is not going away but they will be adding EVs and Hybrids soon to their lineup. So the TRX will be no more after 2023.
Government and policies change with administrations. Right now, sure it looks like V8’s won’t be around for long. But I bet that’s not going to be the case…. Still think the EV revolution is far off.

However, oil is a limited resource and who knows how long it will last. So, it’s certainly wise to plan for the future. BUT, as long as oil does exist, make no mistake, we will burn it. No one forgets the jar of cookies in the cupboard until it’s empty. The power of combustion is just too tasty to simply forget about.

It’s also worth noting that human involvement in climate change is a theory. Even if it’s true, the planet is pretty resilient. We’ll probably have killed each other off to a sustainable level before the planet stops being able to support life.
