DIY truck wrap with matte black vinyl

Im going tk wrap my hood tomorrow. Those tjat have done those, did your remove the hood vents or just cut it short?

I took off the vents. It was just a couple screws from underneath.

the corners were tough to get into. just heat and press in.

When I did my hood last weekend, I didn't remove the vents but just used the knifeless tape to create the edge I needed:

Just finished took about two hours. Ended up using knifeless tape. Couldn't get or want to scratch the paint trying to pry them off.

I agree with MobileBeats.... it is about time. It is pretty easy to do...just takes a lot of time. I did mine over several weeks. I just did a fender one night... then the hood another.

So how durable is the 3m wrap?
what I mean is in extreme conditions (heat, brush scratches, weekly abuse etc.) will you need to replace it after a period of time?
I am looking for options as I am trail stripping my truck every weekend and am not finding a lot of paint protection options that look as good a matte black wrap. Sides of my truck are what takes the most abuse from manzinita and other hard brush on the sides of the trail.
