New to the fourum, I just picked up a 2012 Hennessey raptor and it needs the shocks rebuilt I live in Rochester, mn and have a full shop with a car hoist and most of the tools needed for the job, so I was looking for someone in the area who has rebuilt them before and maybe had some of the special tools and some shock knowledge, I do a lot of mechanical work and have rebuilt hydraulic cylinders but have not tried rebuilding any shocks,

So I started my rebuild project and found out the hard way that the seal kits I ordered from forged Offroad are missing the soft black seal in each kit so I had to reassemble my rear shock with a used seal just just so I could use my truck again I'm so pissed off at forged Offroad and I can't call them because they are too busy to answer the phone and I think they're closed on the weekends so it's going to be another 9 days before I can finish my project because it takes them an additional seven days to ship something to me maybe I will just say the hell with them and by the seals somewhere elseIMG_20190316_115147.jpg

I went with genuine Fox seal kits, you could try Kartek or polyperformance...

Hi Mitch,

First things first, yep we screwed up on that one and missed putting a seal in. We are human and make mistakes and apologize for missing that. We are busy and you are not our only customer which means we can't always answer the phone and we miss calls which is why we have multiple ways to contact us including email, facebook or instagram. We do close on weekends unless we have an appointment scheduled so we can give our guys the time off they have earned.

I see you sent an email in this morning about it and it was answered right away. New cap seals will be sent out today. I hope if there are ever any issues again you give us a chance to make it right before blasting us.

Thanks for the apology and getting the situation corrected in a timely matter, also anyone looking to switch to Schrader valves I highly recommend the forged Offroad custom made Schrader valves they use a small o-ring to seal and use the existing threads so there is no drilling and tapping just thread them in and you're done.

So I just wanted to add a little shortcut I figured out on the front shocks with springs set on mid perch for removing and installing the springs,
For spring removal there is some spring pressure due to being on the mid perch but just lay the springs on their side and remove the nut with an impact.
And for the installing the spring I placed it on a thick rubber hoist pad to keep the bottom from sliding around or getting damaged and placed it under the Hoist arm and compressed it just enough to get the nut started and used an impact to finish tightening it,IMG_20190320_194425.jpg this could easily be done with a conventional press or loader bucket I was just using my hoist because I had it handy
