So I'm having an internal battle with the 12 year old in me, and I'm 50/50 on Ditch Lights. If you have them, can you post some pictures for me?

So that's what those lights are called. Been wondering the same thing but don't know what I'd use them for? I'd say go for it as they look cool.

By ditch lights, assuming you're referring to lights mounted on the a-pillars. Because the lights mount physically higher on the truck, it's a great location to install a set of spot lights. The extra height helps carry the light further down range. Our most popular light setup is the Baja Designs XL80's. Another great option is the Rigid Side Shooters or the Baja Designs LP series with their side projecting LED's. The side projecting LED's helps to illuminate everything off of the driver and passenger side of the vehicle while the forward projecting LED's help throw light ahead.

We keep tons of options in stock and are happy to help!

Thank you for the response, and yes the A Pillars. I really don't want something huge like what you've included. I'm thinking something a little smaller, and definitely square.

Maybe something along these lines (brand can differ, just thinking size)

What do you want the lights for?

aesthetics?
function
both
just because?
Other?

For function, I’d go big, XL80 works great here. I have them with spot lenses and run them with my S8, the output is impressive.

Aesthetics - Really the XL80 looks big in the pictures, and I won’t lie, it is a little big next to the squadrons, but they are a really good fit size wise for the truck.

Squadron sized or a light with some side shooting capability. LP4 ?

IMO a squadron class light is underpowered for this use case. Use the height to get some distance lighting.

hang some S1’s at an angle to light up beside the truck for bonus points.

I would not try to get “in fill” lighting with wide angle lenses here, you’ll get some significant hood splash and lose quite a bit due to positioning.

I've seen a lot of folks happy with Rigid D-SS (Side Shooters) seen here: https://www.rigidindustries.com/d-ss-series-d-ss-series.html
They're what I was going to get after a few other more important mods. They're only 4"x3" and depending on which type you get up to 8,000 lumens a piece.

For me, I was going to get the longer range ones which still offer that nice extra little bit of throw to the sides. I have 6 Rigid Radiance pods in my fogs below. 4 are Scenes and 2 are the standard ones that I can use as street legal-ish fogs for you know, fog. Since I have the super wide throw down low I wanted the higher views up top. My other reason for eventually going with these is because you don't get any wind noise. Definitely keeping my roof clean as a daily because of that.

If you're looking for a more compact light, definitely consider the Baja Designs S1. At 2" x 2" it has a small footprint but big output. Overall light quality and warranty are definitely significantly better than most other brands.

Can you post a pic of your setup?

You can do anything from tiny Baja Designs S1s up to the big Baja Designs XL80, which seem to be the most popular amongst Raptor owners. You can also do Baja Designs LP4, LP6 and LP9 but those are REALLY big.

Here are some XL's mounted to some a-pillar mounts:

Here are some Squadrons mounted on the a-pillar. A little smaller

Now, depending on what your real use is, the lights can differ. We stock everything from the tiny Baja Designs S1 lights up to the big boys, the LP9 (although XL80 is where i'd stop).

Shoot me a message and we can help you choose the right lights. We stock everything you need from the brackets to the lights + wiring harnesses. Everything to make installation easy.

If you want a killer setup, the XL80 is a fan favorite and we have a kit on sale (through Wednesday) which includes EVERYTHING You need (brackets, lights, wiring harness):

Price starts at $789 once added to your cart (discount applied in your cart): http://www.4x4truckleds.com/baja-designs-ford-raptor-2017-xl80-a-pillar-lighting-kit/

The Squadrons look about the right size to me. I’ll have to keep these in mind.
